  • Canon Compatible PGI-255XXL Extra HY Black Ink

    Q:

Am I reading the cost per page correctly, "cost per page for the PGI-255XL is $.87 and CLI-251XL is $.91"? Is that .87cents and .91cents?, or less that a penny per page? It surely wouldn't be 87 cents and 91 cents per page. Please advise. Thanks.
Asked on 8/4/2016 by Paul from Lindon, Utah 84042

    1 answer

    • A:

    Q:

What is the difference between an XL and an XXL
Asked on 5/5/2016 by Bob S. from Milwaukee, WI

    1 answer

    • A:

The XL is the high yield version and the XXL is the extra high yield version. The XXL unit is larger and will only work with a selected amount of printers.

I'm very sorry, but we do not have multi packs for just the color cartridges. Although, if you buy 3 or more of the same color, the price drops to $5 per cartridge.

  • Canon Compatible PGI-255XXL Extra HY Black Ink

    Q:

Is this a Pigment based ink like the original Cannon cartridges or is this Dye based ink? I ask because you don't get as dark and crisp text with dye inks which is one of the reasons I bought the Cannon MX922 printer.

I noticed your PGI-250XL state that they are pigment in the title but I don't see it mentioned anywhere for this extra extra capacity model.

    Thanks.

Yes this cartridge is filled with the same pigment based ink as the compatible PGI-250XL cartridge.

  • Canon PGI-255XXL & CLI-251XL Compatible Ink Set of 11

    Q:

    Grey ink

I have recently purchased a Pixma MG7520. I am searching for a set of replacemet cartridges, and when I put in the model number this is the set of inks that comes up. But I am confused because it does not include the grey cartridge. Why not? Isn't it customary to include all the colors involved in a given model number?
Asked on 10/5/2014 by Krispikins from Home

    1 answer

    • A:

We don't include the Gray cartridge in the bundle set, simply because not all of the compatible Canon printers that use this same series of cartridges, use Gray ink. Only a few select Canon printers actually have slots inside the printer for Gray, therefore it's only offered as a single cartridge.

    Package doesn't contain advertised cartridges.

Received 11 pack and it contained 3 large black (LD PGI-255XXL) but instead of the LD CLI-251XL cartridges for the rest of them, I received C&G NP-C-0251XL cartridges. They work OK in my PIXMA MX922 except they don't light up. Instruction state that it won't light up when installed, so, will it light up or blink when it's empty?
Asked on 10/1/2014 by FrankAL from Michigan, USA

    1 answer

    • A:

Thank you for contacting us! I am sorry for any confusion our labeling caused. Those are the CLI-251XL cartridges, our supplier just has a different item number. These do have working ink chips on them, the printer will notify you when they need to be replaced.

Canon 11-sent ink cartridges - two blck ink types?

What is the difference between pigment black (PGI-255XXL) and black (CLI-251XL) for Canon MX922?
Asked on 8/11/2014 by Keijiroh from Media, PA

    1 answer

    • A:

The Canon MX922 requires two black cartridges in order to print. The PGI-255XXL cartridge is the larger black cartridge that you do most of your black copy printing from, the CLI-251XL cartridge is the small black cartridge that is an addition to the color cartridges providing better quality printouts.

    • A:

The PG 250XL is a high yield cartridge and the PG-255XL is an extra high yield cartridge meaning it will print out a lot more pages. Not all printers can take the PG-255XL so make sure to double check with your printer model number.

    • A:

LD indicates that the 255 XXL is compatible with the Canon MX922. I did not find that to be true. Streaks and poor ink output from the beginning.

I have been purchasing this and many other products from LD Products for at least 8 years now and the failure rate is far less than 1%. We use in excess of 30 cartridges a month so I have a fairly large sampling from which to make these remarks. In fact, I have recommended LD Products to many associates on many occasions based upon this fact. I don't purchase inkjet supplies from anyone other than LD Products so long as the price remains low and the quality remains high. I highly recommend using LD products.

I ordered one of these cartridges for my Canon Pixma MX922 based upon the good reviews. I'd already had it for several months before it was needed. I put it into the printer and the printer registered it as an empty cartridge. I put the old cartridge, a PGI-250XL which only was low on ink, back and will continue to use it for awhile.

I doubt that I'll be buying any more of the extra high yield cartridges for this printer.

Comments about Canon PGI-255XXL & CLI-251XL Compatible Ink Set of 11:

I have used LD many times in the past and their timely delivery cannot be beat. The products work perficately in my Canon printer and I cannot see any difference in the LD printer cartridges quality from the Canon brand.
I would also mention that perviously I had cartridges left after my old printer failed and LD took them back and exchanged them for ones that fit my new printer.
Thanks you for great service and a quality product.

Output looks like OEM

Comments about Canon PGI-255XXL & CLI-251XL Compatible Ink Set of 11:

Arrived in a compact box. I was initially concerned, because it looked like I had received only black cartridges. Turns out the color ones were below the top layer!
Color output is indistinguishable from the originally-supplied cartridges, at a much lower price!
I'm not sure that all generics are the same. Change that to "I'm sure that all generics are not the same." I saved the item number so that I can reorder and not take a chance on duds.
Can't comment yet on durability, since I've only just started using them.
One bummer on all OEM (and this generic set) is that the plastic is opaque, so you can't tell if the printer is trying to "cheat" you by telling you a cartridge is empty when it isn't. With my old inkjet printer, you could actually see the ink level to be sure.

I was nervous about ordering a non Canon product for my printer but did it anyway. I called the customer service department and asked questions about potential problems that might happen;printer rejection etc. The rep was very helpful and told me that there wouldn't be any problems but to call back if there were. There weren't any problems. I ordered enough ink to last me a very long time and I wouldn't hesitate to order again.

Set of 11 for Canon is indeed a good deal

By Sevens

Comments about Canon PGI-255XXL & CLI-251XL Compatible Ink Set of 11:

Only 4 stars for now, but only because it'll take a while to use all 11 cartridges. So far I've only put one in the printer and even tho' it's an aftermarket ink cartridge, it's doing just like the real thing. So, many kudos so far. As for service, I'd give it 5 stars for sure. The package arrived very quickly. I unpacked and looked at all 11 cartridges, and one had leaked inside it's single sealed package. I thought, oh, darn, I dug the box out of the trash, sure that I'd have to send the leaky thing back. I called the customer service number. A real person answered (fancy that!!) and after I explained what I had, she said to throw it away (safely, to recycle) and she'd get a new one out to me immediately. In a couple of days, I got the new one. So, for now, all is huncky dory. When I get thru more of the cartridges, I'll try to write some more.
