I've tried an old empty color cartridge and it still says a problem with printhead.
I've tried scratching the carbon under the chip. Are you suppose to scratch the top ? Then I retaped it after scratching.
Any ideas ?
(I'm using this in a Dell 515w)
P.S. It was working fine for months on my first cartridge. So I tried a new one even though the old one wasn't empty.)

Yes I've taken out the print head and cleaned multiple times. The error message now reads problem with print head. I've unplugged the unit many times but the message always comes back.
So I googled my problem and low and behold these Dell 515W's are just plain crapping out. With no parts available.
So it' not the cartridge, it's the printer. # Lexmark I think.#
Buying a new printer.

Thank you for your inquiry! Based on what you have described, it sounds like you may need to remove and re-install your print-head. Since these cartridges don't have integrated print-heads, just ink tanks, that part can be accessed inside your printer. If you need additional assistance removing your print-head you can contact Dell directly. Very Good Product I am very happy with the quality of this product. It is as good as the Dell ink cartridge at a much lower price. Keep in mind that sometimes a small scratch is needed on the top chip for compatibility but aside from that - no other problems. December 5, 2013

Very satisfied The low cost of these cartridges allows me to enjoy my hobby of photography (on a fixed budget). I make all of my greeting cards and print photos for framing for my personal use. I haven't had any problems except that the ink levels don't show up correctly when I check to see how much I have left. The color is great and the cartridges are delivered in a timely manner. I wouldn't be able to pursue my hobby at the prices Dell charges for cartridges. Thanks for a great product. March 17, 2013

Does not work Thought I was getting great value from other reviews but turns out you get less than you pay, after installing the black and color ink I was able to get one document printed out n black and with the color cartridge it printed the entire page in red which probably wasted most of the ink. I will be requesting a replcement or refund. October 21, 2012
