- LD Luminous Blue Filament 1.75mm (PLA)
Q:Does the "luminous blue" filament glow in the dark?
After I had already ordered and received the luminous blue filament, I see in the Q&A for the "Luninous Green" ABS filament, that the use of the word "luminous" was to express that the color of the filament is "bright and bold".
I ordered this luminous blue filament and it's neither bright nor bold. If there wasn't a label, I would think it was a "natural"/"clear" color.
It does not glow in the dark, no matter the amount of light it is exposed to.
Unless the color changes after printing, I am very much misled by the description of this product. I paid extra for this spool for the "luminous" (ie "glow in the dark") feature but in reality I have a natural colored spool.
Does this spool change color or will it glow in the dark after printing or am I stuck with a natural colored spool that I paid extra for?Asked on 1/21/2015 by FusionDawg
A:We are sincerely sorry for the discrepancy in our description of the FLPLA175KLBU Filament, we are working on an updated description. Under normal lighting the filament will be a natural color. When exposed to darkness, the color will change to a bright, bold, blue color. The filament spool or printer object will basically “charge” its glow in the dark color changing effect with daylight/UV, resulting in a luminous blue color in the dark.Answered on 1/23/2015 by Shoshana
A:Confirmed that the spool does glow in the dark after being exposed to sunlight. The color is not exactly blue. It's more of a blue-green glow leaning more towards green.Answered on 1/27/2015 by Anonymous

Comments about LD Gold 3D Printing Filament (PLA):
I HAVE NOT USED IT YET, DUE TO THE SMALLER THAN ADVERTISED SPOOL, CENTER, MOUNTING HOLE.
IT, (THE DELIVERED ITEM), IS SMALLER.
I CANNOT USE IT, RIGHT NOW.
THE SPOOL HOLDER, I HAVE, IS NOT THE SAME SIZE.
THE FILAMENT LOOKS GOOD THOUGH!
Comments about LD Pink 3D Printing Filament (PLA):
I set my printer to 210 and it printed flawlessly.
I drew a bust of my version of Coby Bryan form the Lakes basketball team. And all I had to do is wait because the print went flawlessly. I use a Rostock Max2 printer and Mattercontrol to prepare, slice and print.
