      • Remove protective clip

      • Carefully remove the drum unit from the printer

      • Reinstall into your machine and print

      Can’t get your ink cartridge to work? The two most common culprits are recognition errors and print quality issues. LD Products shows you how to tackle both in this handy quick tip video.

      If your cartridge isn’t recognizing in your printer, there might be tape residue or finger print oil on the gold contact points.

      • Remove the ink cartridge from machine and locate the gold dots on the side of the cartridge
      • Gently clean these contact points with a cotton swab and rubbing alcohol
      • Reinstall the cartridge and print, If your print quality is poor, your cartridge’s print head may need to be primed. This can happen if a cartridge has been sitting for a while.
      • Grab a warm damp paper towel and fold it into quarters
      • Hold the print head down onto the damp paper towel for about 30 seconds
      • When you remove the cartridge a small pool of ink should be left on the paper towel
      • This process wicks out the ink and will usually resolve your print quality issue. If this doesn’t work, consult your manual for information on running a cleaning on the printer

      • Place the drum unit on a flat surface with a paper towel or cloth underneath to prevent toner powder from accidentally spilling onto your desk or carpet
      • Carefully remove the drum unit from the printer
      • Gently slide the blue tab on the drum back and forth from left to right 8-10 times
      • Slide the tab back to its original position
      • Insert the drum unit back into machine and close the front cover

      • Remove the drum.

      • Remove the protective clip and Insert new toner into the drum

      Need help installing a brand new toner cartridge? First, you need to make sure it’s ready for use! LD Products shows you what to check for with this handy quick tips guide!

      • Before prepping your toner for installation, put down a paper towel or cloth on a clean, flat surface to prevent toner powder from accidentally spilling onto your desk or carpet
      • Most new toners are protected by a plastic cover for shipping purposes. To remove, hold the cartridge in one hand and pull up on the top of the plastic cover with the other hand
      • Removing the protective cover exposes the drum. Avoid touching the drum, it is extremely sensitive
      • Locate the plastic seal strip sticking out from the side of the toner
      • Pull on the strip until it is completely removed from the toner. It’s normal to see some toner powder come out after pulling the tab
      • Install into your machine and you are ready to print
