I like this system a lot and would give it five stars, but refills seem to be a little expensive. I also did pop a top off to refill one, but it was a pain. But anyway, in the long run, it keeps my littlest from having soap all over the bathroom. I'm mainly writing in response to some of the other reviews about not working properly or continuous dispensing of soap. The first one I had worked great for several months and all of a sudden it started going wacky. It wouldn't dispense and if it did, it almost wouldn't stop. So I replaced the batteries and same thing happened. Luckily the package we bought had two dispensers and we started using it. I, being a mechanic, had to find out what was wrong with it, so I started taking some of it apart. While I had it flipped over, I noticed the sensor, under the part that sticks out for dispensing, had a small film of soap on it. My littlest would hold his hand too close and got soap all over it. But after I cleaned it off, it worked like a charm again. I let everyone in the house know about it and haven't had a problem since. Thanks for reading!

We bought this product less than 4 months ago and after buying the refill we learned they changed the design and the new refills do not fit. What are we supposed to do? We are not going out and buying the newer design dispenser that is for sure. We are going back to the store we bought it and demand the newer dispenser. Lysol should have sent everyone who bought their product the new dispenser without us having to find out the hard way. What kind of company does this????? A NOT SO HAPPY CUSTOMER

Comments about Lysol No-Touch Soap Dispenser:

I purchased my first one about 2 years ago when we newly refurbished our bathroom. I bought a 2nd one for our other bathroom about 6 months later. Both are still working beautifully. It really helps keep my bathroom cleaner when my grandkids visit :-)

Comments about Lysol No-Touch Soap Dispenser:

I've been using the no-touch system for about a year and a half. I have them in my kitchen and bathroom. No mess, convenient, sanitary, and a great value. Please continue to add new fragrances.

Disappointing

By DJudi

Comments about Lysol No-Touch Soap Dispenser:

I've had the dispenser for about 3 years... recently when I bought the refills, I have to do 2-4 pumps to get a lather. Then to top it off, it started secreting this jelly like texture from the bottom of the dispenser. I was happy and everyone loves it when they come over, especially my daughter, but I am not sure about buying a new one. I have 4 refills left over.

Disappointed

By DanielleDvo

Comments about Lysol No-Touch Soap Dispenser:

I now have gone through two no touch systems in about two years. It starts dispensing soap when I am nowhere near the system so I thought it was the batteries. I changed those and now it has stopped working altogether. And I just bought a brand new refill that is now a waste because the dispenser is broken. I don't think it's worth buying a new one.

I've purchased two of the ...

By Deborah

Comments about Lysol No-Touch Soap Dispenser:

I've purchased two of the automatic dispensers only to have both of them stop working correctly. This second one will not turn off when not in use. I've purchased several refills and won't be able to use them. I do not want to purchase another dispenser as I'm afraid they will continue to be faulty. The two dispensers I've purchased become faulty after only a couple of months and are pricey to replace. The whole purpose of the dispenser is NOT to have to replace them.

Just recently bought new white short version of Lysol automatic hand soap dispenser. How in the world do you get battery compartment open?!!! Cannot do this. It shows whole bottom coming off, but mine won't come off.

Comments about Lysol No-Touch Soap Dispenser:

Worst no touch I've ever tried! Feels like it's watered down and need 2-3 pumps to have enough soap to give some lather.

Cartridge Comparison Guide
  • Cartridge Types
  • Ink & Toner Basics
  • Number of Pages & Shelf Life
Cartridge Type
Genuine or OEM (Original) Cartridges Remanufactured Cartridges Compatible Cartridges
Description OEM stands for original equipment manufacturer, meaning the cartridge was made by the same company that made your printer. Original brand cartridges are very reliable and sometimes the only option if your printer is new to market or uncommon. Remanufactured ink is a genuine brand cartridge that has gone through one cycle of use. After use, the cartridge is recycled, acquired by a remanufacturing facility and put through a rigorous professional refurbishing process. During the refurbishing process the cartridge is disassembled, thoroughly cleaned and tested for quality. It's then carefully refilled, tested again and brought back to life. Buying remanufactured prevents one less cartridge from ending up in a landfill. A compatible cartridge is a brand new ink cartridge built by a manufacturer other than your printer. It's like buying the generic version of the genuine brand. Most are uniquely designed to differentiate from genuine cartridges. Despite any structural difference you may notice, the cartridge will still fit in your machine and print a full yield, just like the original brand.
Price Factors Many printer manufacturers follow the razor-and-blades business model which may result in higher priced genuine cartridges. Remanufactured ink is much cheaper than the original brand ink. It's far more cost effective to refurbish a previously used cartridge than create a new OEM from scratch. Compatible ink is much cheaper than the original brand. Compatible suppliers don't have to worry about the additional costs that hinder OEMs like new printers or firmware, which lets them keep prices low.
Quality Original cartridges work extremely well and are covered under a warranty by the printer manufacturer High quality remanufactured ink will match the quality of the original, but not all remanufactured ink is created equal. Make sure you buy from a reputable supplier in order to get the absolute best results. High quality compatible ink will match the quality of the original, but not all compatible ink is created equal. Make sure you buy from a reputable supplier in order to get the absolute best results.
What's the difference between ink and toner cartridges?
Ink Cartridges Toner Cartridges
Printer Type Work with inkjet printers Work with laser printers
Material Liquid ink Dry powder
How it works Inkjet printers use a series of nozzles that spray tiny drops of ink directly on the print suface Laser toner printers use static electricity and heat to bond dry toner powder to a page
Commonly used by Casual home users, small business and photographers Large businesses and schools
Number of Pages You Can Print A cartridge's page yield is the estimated number of pages you can print. Page yield is based on 5% page coverage. This means that the quoted page yield is based upon printed pages where only 5% of the page has been imprinted with ink. For example, a short memo has approximately 5% coverage. If you have a cartridge that has a yield of 500 pages, it can print 500 pages of that short memo. If you are printing letters, photos or graphics, your coverage will vary greatly and your page yield will drop significantly.
Cartridge Warranty and Shelf Life Most ink and toner cartridges include a warranty or "best by" date on their box. Remanufactured and compatible ink cartridges can last 12-18 months unopened, and toner cartridges can last up to 3 years.
Cartridge Care and Storage Only open a cartridge when you need it. Opened cartridges will eventually dry out, especially if the protective tape or clip has been removed. If you have an open ink cartridge around and would like to try and prevent it from drying out, place it nozzle side up in a plastic airtight tub. If your cartridge came with protective tape or a clip reapply both before storing. Place a damp cloth or paper towel in the tub, next to the cartridge and keep it stored in a cool, dark place.
