I purchased this item during physical therapy after a major injury that needed surgery and a long recovery. It was a God-send! It helped (and still does two years later) to tremendously ease the discomfort and swelling involved in the healing process. The large reusable cold compress already has a soft cloth covering, so no need for anything to wrap an old school ice-pack in and no drips like the old cloth ice-bags. Because it is a gel material, it very easily conforms to whatever shape you need it to be ( knee in my case). It also stays cold for just the right amount of time so you don't overdo the cold therapy. My preschool-aged daughter has used it on many occasions for all sorts of bumps, bangs, bruises, sprains, bug bites, etc. My father has also used it many many times to alleviate stinging and itching sensations from allergic reactions and eczema. One of the best features is its durability. After constant use and abuse, it is still in brand new condition! I will always keep at least one of these on hand at all times!

We had one of these packs that lasted for several years and extended use. I bought two more recently. We love the softness when frozen and love the size but after just a few months we are disappointed that both are leaking from the seams. Surely there is a better construction process that can prevent this. They were expensive and I expected more from a pricey product. We've had some smaller discount store flexible gel packs that lasted longer. I will be buying other products and making a little cotton cover for them. Less annoyance in the long run. I would have recommended this product in the past, but whether it is poorer construction in recent years or an inferior product made to meet a volume buyer's price point, I will now not recommend it.

Was great while it wiorked

Comments about Ace Large Reusable Cold Compress:

Bought this compress to use when I had shin splints and it worked well. Soon after maybe about a month after I injured my wrist and tried to use it. It started leaking and now its basically useless. Loved the product, but durability was rather bum. For the price I bought it at the cost of shipping wouldn't make it worth sending in. I guess I'll stick to icepacks in plastic bags for now.

Nothing but air and a few lumps

By early

Comments about Ace Large Reusable Cold Compress:

I purchased the Ace Reusable cold compress yesterday 9/12/16. I put in the freezer when I got home. I tried using it today but it was barely cold and has three lumps in it. The rest is air. It did very little to relieve the pain in my hand since it was barely cold. I already threw out the receipt and packaging in the community recycling bin where I cannot retrieve. I am a very unhappy consumer.

Loved It, I could multi task and ice

By Barbikns

Comments about Ace Large Reusable Cold Compress:

I bought this because my left ankle gives me problems and swells with overuse. I try to avoid steroid injections so keeping the swelling down is important. This allows me to wrap on and not have to hold it in place. I can work or read. I am a mom of 3 so it is usually folding laundry though!

Comments about Ace Large Reusable Cold Compress:

I got one of the reusable cold large compress ,I have a bad shoulder and need to ice it all the time to help with the pain, I was very happy with the product till it started leaking in three spots, this was an item I really need and cant keep affording to buy more,I will be having surgery on Friday the 11th and will still need to ice for the pain due to torn tendons , so I hope the one I have now doesn't leak I will be sending the other back to the company so maybe you guys can find out why they leak.. I would like to keep buying the ACE products but I would like to know the product is going to last ..thank you

Great idea, but each unit I purchased has leaks

By RICE

from Massachusetts

Comments about Ace Large Reusable Cold Compress:

Love the product but the leaks happen with every unit I have purchased. Even with cautious use, handling, and storage, ruptures occur within a few months. Cleaning up the leaking gel is not what I hoped for. Have used approx 5 of these now over the past few years, all with same issue. Too bad, otherwise could have been a great product. Seems like design may have "cheaped" out on the bladder.

Cartridge Comparison Guide
  • Cartridge Types
  • Ink & Toner Basics
  • Number of Pages & Shelf Life
Cartridge Type
Genuine or OEM (Original) Cartridges Remanufactured Cartridges Compatible Cartridges
Description OEM stands for original equipment manufacturer, meaning the cartridge was made by the same company that made your printer. Original brand cartridges are very reliable and sometimes the only option if your printer is new to market or uncommon. Remanufactured ink is a genuine brand cartridge that has gone through one cycle of use. After use, the cartridge is recycled, acquired by a remanufacturing facility and put through a rigorous professional refurbishing process. During the refurbishing process the cartridge is disassembled, thoroughly cleaned and tested for quality. It's then carefully refilled, tested again and brought back to life. Buying remanufactured prevents one less cartridge from ending up in a landfill. A compatible cartridge is a brand new ink cartridge built by a manufacturer other than your printer. It's like buying the generic version of the genuine brand. Most are uniquely designed to differentiate from genuine cartridges. Despite any structural difference you may notice, the cartridge will still fit in your machine and print a full yield, just like the original brand.
Price Factors Many printer manufacturers follow the razor-and-blades business model which may result in higher priced genuine cartridges. Remanufactured ink is much cheaper than the original brand ink. It's far more cost effective to refurbish a previously used cartridge than create a new OEM from scratch. Compatible ink is much cheaper than the original brand. Compatible suppliers don't have to worry about the additional costs that hinder OEMs like new printers or firmware, which lets them keep prices low.
Quality Original cartridges work extremely well and are covered under a warranty by the printer manufacturer High quality remanufactured ink will match the quality of the original, but not all remanufactured ink is created equal. Make sure you buy from a reputable supplier in order to get the absolute best results. High quality compatible ink will match the quality of the original, but not all compatible ink is created equal. Make sure you buy from a reputable supplier in order to get the absolute best results.
What's the difference between ink and toner cartridges?
Ink Cartridges Toner Cartridges
Printer Type Work with inkjet printers Work with laser printers
Material Liquid ink Dry powder
How it works Inkjet printers use a series of nozzles that spray tiny drops of ink directly on the print suface Laser toner printers use static electricity and heat to bond dry toner powder to a page
Commonly used by Casual home users, small business and photographers Large businesses and schools
Number of Pages You Can Print A cartridge's page yield is the estimated number of pages you can print. Page yield is based on 5% page coverage. This means that the quoted page yield is based upon printed pages where only 5% of the page has been imprinted with ink. For example, a short memo has approximately 5% coverage. If you have a cartridge that has a yield of 500 pages, it can print 500 pages of that short memo. If you are printing letters, photos or graphics, your coverage will vary greatly and your page yield will drop significantly.
Cartridge Warranty and Shelf Life Most ink and toner cartridges include a warranty or "best by" date on their box. Remanufactured and compatible ink cartridges can last 12-18 months unopened, and toner cartridges can last up to 3 years.
Cartridge Care and Storage Only open a cartridge when you need it. Opened cartridges will eventually dry out, especially if the protective tape or clip has been removed. If you have an open ink cartridge around and would like to try and prevent it from drying out, place it nozzle side up in a plastic airtight tub. If your cartridge came with protective tape or a clip reapply both before storing. Place a damp cloth or paper towel in the tub, next to the cartridge and keep it stored in a cool, dark place.
