I have tried every non-stick cookware friendly sponge out there and the only one that works without major effort and protects my cookware at the same time has been the Scotch-Brite brand, I won't use anything else. If you have cookware you love or spent a pretty penny on, use this Scotch-Brite non-stick cookware sponge to clean it and as long as your kids keep the metal spoons out, your cookware will last longer! I clean for a living and all my sponges, brushes, and scrubbers are Scotch-Brite brand, they last longer and work harder like me. With Scotch-Brite I don't need to use as much "elbow-grease". Scotch-Brite makes my job and life much easier!

Something has changed for the worse in the manufacturing of these sponges. I have used these religiously for years and years, buying them in bulk from Costco. The sponge has always performed as promised and each sponge would last a good long while. When the sponge would get dirty, I would send it through the dishwasher and it would come out as good as new! BUT NO LONGER!! Now, any oily residue on my dishes gets absorbed into the sponge and remains trapped there. Sanitizing them through the dishwasher cycle does nothing. Sanitizing them in water with a little bleach does nothing. In less than a week they become dirty useless bricks that won't even absorb water!! They are now useless kitchen tools lasting barely longer than a paper towel. It's interesting how it's the little things in life that produce both the greatest joy and the deepest disappointment. I'm not a review writer usually. A sponge is a tool which helps us solve problems: it cleans up messes and accidents. And the Scotch Bright non-scratch scrubbing sponge that WAS was an amazing little workhorse that came through every time and was a great value as it held up to rigorous scrubbing and was able to be cleaned and sanitized and used again and again. This NEW sponge, however, doesn't help me solve problems but has become a problem in and of itself. It locks into itself dirt and grime, it smells, and must be discarded by weeks end. Very disappointed in the changes made to these sponges!

These used to be awesome

By Wilda

Comments about Scotch-Brite No Scratch Scrub Sponge - 3 per pack:

Like so many others have pointed out, these used to be a really great product, lasting up to 3-4 weeks of dish washing by hand. Sometime between 2013 and 2014, the quality went way downhill. These last about a week and a half on average and start to come apart (the sponge part would shred, and the whole thing gets noticeably thinner than they used to get). It is so noticeable that even my husband said something about the degraded quality. Until they fix these, I will not be buying them again. A shame.

Odor issue

By creepycupcake

from Petaluma,California

Comments about Scotch-Brite No Scratch Scrub Sponge - 3 per pack:

I have used Scotch-Brute products for many years, and have come to trust the brand to consistently offer high-quality, reliable products that perform well. I have purchased 4 of these sponges, and in each, the following was consistent among each of the 4. Upon opening the packages, there was a strong, distinct odor of mildew coming from the sponges. After rinsing the sponges in hot, soapy water, the odor was lessened significantly. After using the sponge for normal washing of dishes (non-stick pans, utensils, etc. ) I always rinse my sponges in hot, soapy water and place the sponge in a sponge holder which circulates air around the sponge as it dries. After only 2 days of regular usage, the sponge smelled awful. It smelled like mildew , only worse. I tried cleaning the sponge, as I usually do, to no avail. I then used the other 3 sponges, but the results were the same; mildew odor right out of the package, and rapid worsening until I had no choice but to dispose of them. I still believe that Scotch-Brite products are of excellent value and quality. I just feel it is imperative that companies know when their products don't live up to the high standards we consumers have come to expect.

Scotch-Brite (non-scratch) Scrub Sponges-blue

By WifeandMomx2

Comments about Scotch-Brite No Scratch Scrub Sponge - 3 per pack:

I have been using the Scotch-Brite (non-scratch) Blue Scrub Sponges for more than 10 years. I recently purchased a 9 pack from my local retailer. Up until this recent purchase, I was completely satisfied with the product. As soon as I put the new sponge in my hand I knew immediately it was not of the same quality I was accustomed to. The new sponge has lower density and is more flimsy in my hand than the older sponge. I even had my husband compare the the new sponge with the older sponge. He also agreed the newer sponge felt less dense and more flimsy. I am not satisfied with the changes made to the product. Thank you for your time.

Disappointed

By Swimmer

Comments about Scotch-Brite No Scratch Scrub Sponge - 3 per pack:

I have been using these sponges for years and have been very satisfied. The last few packs I have bought, however, do not meet the quality standards that I have been used to with this product. The scrubbing side works well and is durable. The sponge side, however, begins to disintegrate after a few uses. Small portions of the sponge begin to break off, leaving small blue sponge scraps in the sink. I have switched to another brand and am not having that problem. Obviously something has changed in the manufacturing process that is not for the better.

Cartridge Comparison Guide
  • Cartridge Types
  • Ink & Toner Basics
  • Number of Pages & Shelf Life
Cartridge Type
Genuine or OEM (Original) Cartridges Remanufactured Cartridges Compatible Cartridges
Description OEM stands for original equipment manufacturer, meaning the cartridge was made by the same company that made your printer. Original brand cartridges are very reliable and sometimes the only option if your printer is new to market or uncommon. Remanufactured ink is a genuine brand cartridge that has gone through one cycle of use. After use, the cartridge is recycled, acquired by a remanufacturing facility and put through a rigorous professional refurbishing process. During the refurbishing process the cartridge is disassembled, thoroughly cleaned and tested for quality. It's then carefully refilled, tested again and brought back to life. Buying remanufactured prevents one less cartridge from ending up in a landfill. A compatible cartridge is a brand new ink cartridge built by a manufacturer other than your printer. It's like buying the generic version of the genuine brand. Most are uniquely designed to differentiate from genuine cartridges. Despite any structural difference you may notice, the cartridge will still fit in your machine and print a full yield, just like the original brand.
Price Factors Many printer manufacturers follow the razor-and-blades business model which may result in higher priced genuine cartridges. Remanufactured ink is much cheaper than the original brand ink. It's far more cost effective to refurbish a previously used cartridge than create a new OEM from scratch. Compatible ink is much cheaper than the original brand. Compatible suppliers don't have to worry about the additional costs that hinder OEMs like new printers or firmware, which lets them keep prices low.
Quality Original cartridges work extremely well and are covered under a warranty by the printer manufacturer High quality remanufactured ink will match the quality of the original, but not all remanufactured ink is created equal. Make sure you buy from a reputable supplier in order to get the absolute best results. High quality compatible ink will match the quality of the original, but not all compatible ink is created equal. Make sure you buy from a reputable supplier in order to get the absolute best results.
What's the difference between ink and toner cartridges?
Ink Cartridges Toner Cartridges
Printer Type Work with inkjet printers Work with laser printers
Material Liquid ink Dry powder
How it works Inkjet printers use a series of nozzles that spray tiny drops of ink directly on the print suface Laser toner printers use static electricity and heat to bond dry toner powder to a page
Commonly used by Casual home users, small business and photographers Large businesses and schools
Number of Pages You Can Print A cartridge's page yield is the estimated number of pages you can print. Page yield is based on 5% page coverage. This means that the quoted page yield is based upon printed pages where only 5% of the page has been imprinted with ink. For example, a short memo has approximately 5% coverage. If you have a cartridge that has a yield of 500 pages, it can print 500 pages of that short memo. If you are printing letters, photos or graphics, your coverage will vary greatly and your page yield will drop significantly.
Cartridge Warranty and Shelf Life Most ink and toner cartridges include a warranty or "best by" date on their box. Remanufactured and compatible ink cartridges can last 12-18 months unopened, and toner cartridges can last up to 3 years.
Cartridge Care and Storage Only open a cartridge when you need it. Opened cartridges will eventually dry out, especially if the protective tape or clip has been removed. If you have an open ink cartridge around and would like to try and prevent it from drying out, place it nozzle side up in a plastic airtight tub. If your cartridge came with protective tape or a clip reapply both before storing. Place a damp cloth or paper towel in the tub, next to the cartridge and keep it stored in a cool, dark place.
