1904 –<\/strong> Ira Rubel invents offset lithography, a printing method in which the inked image on a printing plate is printed on a\u00a0rubber\u00a0cylinder\u00a0and then transferred to\u00a0paper1<\/sup>.<\/p>\n

1938 –<\/strong> Chester Carlson invents electrophotography, or Xerox\u00ae<\/sup>, one of the founding technologies of laser printing2\u00ae<\/sup>.<\/p>\n
