I have purchased other hooks and hangers from this brand and reviewed one of those before here. The Glamorous Green Wire hooks type was received from 3M to evaluate and review. In my first visual contact with this product item, the green was appealing, but I was not that sure about the metal as the hook. I changed my mind once I got the package open and thought about why it would work for me. There is a catchy adjustment here and I will call it the ability to lift up. The metal will be more adaptable for certain items, and perhaps a better hold. You will see the hook end is slightly open, leaving the possibility of inserting something through there, like a pin hook for a decoration. I had wanted to hang some things, which were getting in the way and had cords attached. The other types were not going to work well. I used one to hang a small flashlight which has a cord, another for a hairdryer and a bag that is light weight (to hold some things I am working on). I also included those clear divider holders, or page protectors to be hung by the center hole. This helps me remember important things to be done, while keeping them from my clumsy accidents. It is therefore a versatile product, and because it is metal, perhaps stronger. I do want to know if it comes in other colors for more choices. Clothes which are to be hung by their tags or other such ways can benefit by a thinner hook area. The mounting tape is the thin clear one and I advise you to follow the instructions of how to prep the area. I find this does not adhere to a surface like those on a cheap coated drafting table from a previous attempt. I used two of the three contained in this pack on a semi-gloss wall and I also suggest when removing to follow instructions as well. This may be my top choice of what I will purchase again, because the metal seems to be securely in place and the ability to move about seems to allow more of a success in holding certain items. I am not sure if other companies make any of this type also, so that makes it more desirable [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

I'm not sure who the "Commander" is on these hooks but they are horrible and frustrating to say the least. I have been using them for the past 4 years at Christmas time to hold a garland around a mirror above the fireplace. I did absolutely everything the directions said. After many attempts, I can sometimes get them to stick. I thought for sure this year I would have no problems. I shouldn't have been surprised that they didn't stick at all. It seems as though they're using some new glue on their strips that works worst than ever. They claim to work best on flat smooth surfaces. How much flatter and smoother can you get than a mirror?! I thought it was because I used windex to clean the mirror because it says not to use household cleaners. So this year I used isopropyl rubbing alcohol and let it dry completely. I stuck the proper side of the adhesive strip to the hook and then removed the black liner "wall side" to stick to the mirror. I held firmly for 30 seconds and waited an hour. I had been using the smaller hooks, which I thought were the reason I could not get the garland to stay up easily in previous years. So this year I bought the larger hooks that hold 1/2 pound each. I used 16 hooks to hold up a small garland that weighs 31 oz. (I weighed it on my scale) which should in theory hold 8lbs.. After gently hooking the garland in, while pressing the hook to the mirror so as to not put pressure or strain on it, the hooks fell off so easily that it angered me. I spent all that time and effort to do everything correctly and these hooks fell off easier than 2-sided tape would have-- literally. Ironically, they held well on my textured wall.

So bad!

By Cbcb101

Comments about Command Adhesive Hanging Window Hooks:

I bought these to hang up simple Christmas lights in my room, and I used about 10 hooks and they still did not hold up the lights. And I used more sticky pads than actual hooks. The pads are not sticky enough. I even followed the directions and even held it for extra time. DO NOT BUY!!!

Took paint right off

Comments about Command Adhesive Hanging Window Hooks:

Hung two of these identical hooks. Only used them to hang light towels to dry. One came off and tore the paint right off the wall. I live in a rental home, I don't have the paint to fix it. Now I lose some of my security deposit because your hooks don't work.

Cartridge Comparison Guide
  • Cartridge Types
  • Ink & Toner Basics
  • Number of Pages & Shelf Life
Cartridge Type
Genuine or OEM (Original) Cartridges Remanufactured Cartridges Compatible Cartridges
Description OEM stands for original equipment manufacturer, meaning the cartridge was made by the same company that made your printer. Original brand cartridges are very reliable and sometimes the only option if your printer is new to market or uncommon. Remanufactured ink is a genuine brand cartridge that has gone through one cycle of use. After use, the cartridge is recycled, acquired by a remanufacturing facility and put through a rigorous professional refurbishing process. During the refurbishing process the cartridge is disassembled, thoroughly cleaned and tested for quality. It's then carefully refilled, tested again and brought back to life. Buying remanufactured prevents one less cartridge from ending up in a landfill. A compatible cartridge is a brand new ink cartridge built by a manufacturer other than your printer. It's like buying the generic version of the genuine brand. Most are uniquely designed to differentiate from genuine cartridges. Despite any structural difference you may notice, the cartridge will still fit in your machine and print a full yield, just like the original brand.
Price Factors Many printer manufacturers follow the razor-and-blades business model which may result in higher priced genuine cartridges. Remanufactured ink is much cheaper than the original brand ink. It's far more cost effective to refurbish a previously used cartridge than create a new OEM from scratch. Compatible ink is much cheaper than the original brand. Compatible suppliers don't have to worry about the additional costs that hinder OEMs like new printers or firmware, which lets them keep prices low.
Quality Original cartridges work extremely well and are covered under a warranty by the printer manufacturer High quality remanufactured ink will match the quality of the original, but not all remanufactured ink is created equal. Make sure you buy from a reputable supplier in order to get the absolute best results. High quality compatible ink will match the quality of the original, but not all compatible ink is created equal. Make sure you buy from a reputable supplier in order to get the absolute best results.
What's the difference between ink and toner cartridges?
Ink Cartridges Toner Cartridges
Printer Type Work with inkjet printers Work with laser printers
Material Liquid ink Dry powder
How it works Inkjet printers use a series of nozzles that spray tiny drops of ink directly on the print suface Laser toner printers use static electricity and heat to bond dry toner powder to a page
Commonly used by Casual home users, small business and photographers Large businesses and schools
Number of Pages You Can Print A cartridge's page yield is the estimated number of pages you can print. Page yield is based on 5% page coverage. This means that the quoted page yield is based upon printed pages where only 5% of the page has been imprinted with ink. For example, a short memo has approximately 5% coverage. If you have a cartridge that has a yield of 500 pages, it can print 500 pages of that short memo. If you are printing letters, photos or graphics, your coverage will vary greatly and your page yield will drop significantly.
Cartridge Warranty and Shelf Life Most ink and toner cartridges include a warranty or "best by" date on their box. Remanufactured and compatible ink cartridges can last 12-18 months unopened, and toner cartridges can last up to 3 years.
Cartridge Care and Storage Only open a cartridge when you need it. Opened cartridges will eventually dry out, especially if the protective tape or clip has been removed. If you have an open ink cartridge around and would like to try and prevent it from drying out, place it nozzle side up in a plastic airtight tub. If your cartridge came with protective tape or a clip reapply both before storing. Place a damp cloth or paper towel in the tub, next to the cartridge and keep it stored in a cool, dark place.
