What ink does Canon PIXMA iP2820 use?
The PIXMA iP2820 printer uses one (1) black Canon PG-245 and one (1) tricolor CL-246 ink cartridge. Both are also available in XL sizes. Compatible ink cartridges work just as well as original Canon cartridges on the Canon PIXMA iP2820 printer.
How do I change the ink on my Canon Pixma iP2820?
- Open the front cover of the PIXMA iP2820.
- This will expose the cartridge access door. Open the cartridge access door.
- The cartridges will start moving. Wait until the cartridges have stopped at the center of the printer.
- Unpack your new cartridge. Remove the protective tape from your new cartridge. We recommend removing the tape over the trash can, as sometimes ink can escape during this process.
- Avoid touching the gold contact points as you remove the tape. The gold contacts are very sensitive. If you do touch them, carefully wipe them off with a lint-free cloth.
- Hold the old cartridge with two fingers and gently pull out to remove it from the slot it's in.
- Slide the new cartridge into the empty slot, push gently until it clicks into place.
- Close the cartridge access door and close the front cover. The iP2820 printer will then start priming the cartridges by running a printhead cleaning.
- Once the cleaning has finished, you are ready to print!
