I am a truck driver. I love it and I hate it. I had Voyager and Voyager Pro before, they are very comfortable, sound quality and noise suppression is just excellent, but it is too fragile and tends to crack in place where turnable microphone bar connects to headset body! They both cracked on the same spot. I glued it with liquid metal and continued to use. Then around the ear rubber has cracked. It gives excellent sound, noise suppression and comfortable feeling but there is something wrong in body shape engineering - it is just not strong enough, at least it has place to improve.

This is my third Plantronics Headset. I had the original Voyager, then the Voyager Pro and now the Voyager Pro HD. The first two at least worked reliably and were comfortable to wear for a long period of time. My original Voyager just stopped working one day. On my Voyager Pro the rubber around the ear cracked in multiple places, but kept on working. It would just fall of my ear constantly. This new Voyager Pro HD has never worked right. It constantly disconnects from my phone "phone 2 disconnected" is what it says. When I hit the ear button to answer, it does nothing. I have an iPhone 3 and will not buy another Plantronics Product after my Pro HD experience.

Had Potential for being the greatest

By Roscoe

from Greensboro, NC

Comments about Plantronics Voyager 510-USB Bluetooth Earset:

I don't think I knew how long the Voyager Pro had been around when I got the HD as my first wireless earpiece as a gift. I loved it for the first year or so, until the rubber that goes over the ear started to deteriorate and break apart. I taped it with electrical tape and then eventually some silicone tape which held it together for another year. It still worked fine in every respect except it wanted to fall off my ear when I bent over. I needed a new one. When I finally went to replace it, I found it was no longer available. Instead of improving a good product which had potential for being the greatest of its kind, they had to replace it with the inferior Legend which did not Improve on the Voyager Pro according to the reviews of Pro users who went to the Legend as an upgrade. Plantronics could have used all the free reviews from multiple websites to determine how to improve the Voyager Pro to make it the greatest, but no, they came out with a new inferior product instead. That is too bad !

Connectivity issues

By Ulises

from Monterrey, Mexico

Comments about Plantronics Voyager 510-USB Bluetooth Earset:

It gets un-paired from the USB mini adapter and wont't get connected again to use it with my laptop, which is the primary device I need to connect to my Voyager Lengend. Tried the procedure to pair it again but it does not work consistently. It work directly with my iphone though, but cant't make it work again with my laptop through the BT adapter. It also gets disconnected for no reason when in the middle of a call in mi phone, then is gets back. Battery life is not the 7 hrs offered. Not sure if I got a defective device or it definitely is a bad quality product overall. Not used to find this results from a Plantronics device

What's happening?

By 752pleasant

Comments about Plantronics Voyager 510-USB Bluetooth Earset:

What's happening? This little headset used to be a rockstar... Now I'm getting interference whenever I have it connected to more than one device. I find myself having to shut it off of one phone to carry on a conversation on another. I have upgraded it, check firmware, and still having the same issue. Another thing, there's now a 1 to 2 second delay when you press the microphone button on your phone and wait for the tone in your ear. Was not there in the veginning. Not sure what's driving the diminished performance but it's frustrating. I actually feel badly about the lower rating. I used to love this. Now I'm struggling to like it.

Good product easy to set up. Bluetooth signal can be little poor when using Lync - have to be very near the USB dongle.

Quality Audio but Short Life Span

By romo6253

Comments about Plantronics Voyager 510-USB Bluetooth Earset:

I just received my 3rd B235 in the past 3 years. The first one I purchased in April 2014 had to be replaced in Feb 2015 because it stopped working. Fortunately the warranty covered it. The warranty replacement just died a couple weeks ago. Ufortunately, the warranty had expired so I had to pay full retail. I love their quality I just wished they would last a little longer. In comparison, the Legend CS I bought in 2013 and a BackBeat 903 I bought in 2014 are both still going strong. Sadly, neither one willwork with the B235 adapter. Great audio - lousy life span.

Comments about Plantronics Voyager 510-USB Bluetooth Earset:

I've been using the Voyager Pro UC for years. Once in a while I wash one or it just quits. Oh well - I buy another. Brilliaint sounds, best microphone in the business and full control of Skype for Business. Best I've ever used.

Ok headset WHEN IT WORKS

By kathyw

from Los Angeles, CA

Comments about Plantronics Voyager 510-USB Bluetooth Earset:

First, when you walk away from your PC or phone and then return within range, the headset does not necessarily automatically reconnect, which is a pain. Also, I've found with the last 2-3 of this particular model, they last less than a year before the audio is unacceptable as in the person at the other end of the call cannot hear you.

Great Headset

By Dougbran

from Walnut Creek, CA, United States

Comments about Plantronics Voyager 510-USB Bluetooth Earset:

Just bought this head set and very happy with the purchase. Sound quality is great and microphone has quality audio. Sits comfortably on the ear and does not cause any irritation after long use. I have this connected to my Cisco soft phone and it is working flawlessly. Range is pretty good not excellent. The stated distance is about what you get. Overall very happy with the purchase.

Cartridge Comparison Guide
  • Cartridge Types
  • Ink & Toner Basics
  • Number of Pages & Shelf Life
Cartridge Type
Genuine or OEM (Original) Cartridges Remanufactured Cartridges Compatible Cartridges
Description OEM stands for original equipment manufacturer, meaning the cartridge was made by the same company that made your printer. Original brand cartridges are very reliable and sometimes the only option if your printer is new to market or uncommon. Remanufactured ink is a genuine brand cartridge that has gone through one cycle of use. After use, the cartridge is recycled, acquired by a remanufacturing facility and put through a rigorous professional refurbishing process. During the refurbishing process the cartridge is disassembled, thoroughly cleaned and tested for quality. It's then carefully refilled, tested again and brought back to life. Buying remanufactured prevents one less cartridge from ending up in a landfill. A compatible cartridge is a brand new ink cartridge built by a manufacturer other than your printer. It's like buying the generic version of the genuine brand. Most are uniquely designed to differentiate from genuine cartridges. Despite any structural difference you may notice, the cartridge will still fit in your machine and print a full yield, just like the original brand.
Price Factors Many printer manufacturers follow the razor-and-blades business model which may result in higher priced genuine cartridges. Remanufactured ink is much cheaper than the original brand ink. It's far more cost effective to refurbish a previously used cartridge than create a new OEM from scratch. Compatible ink is much cheaper than the original brand. Compatible suppliers don't have to worry about the additional costs that hinder OEMs like new printers or firmware, which lets them keep prices low.
Quality Original cartridges work extremely well and are covered under a warranty by the printer manufacturer High quality remanufactured ink will match the quality of the original, but not all remanufactured ink is created equal. Make sure you buy from a reputable supplier in order to get the absolute best results. High quality compatible ink will match the quality of the original, but not all compatible ink is created equal. Make sure you buy from a reputable supplier in order to get the absolute best results.
What's the difference between ink and toner cartridges?
Ink Cartridges Toner Cartridges
Printer Type Work with inkjet printers Work with laser printers
Material Liquid ink Dry powder
How it works Inkjet printers use a series of nozzles that spray tiny drops of ink directly on the print suface Laser toner printers use static electricity and heat to bond dry toner powder to a page
Commonly used by Casual home users, small business and photographers Large businesses and schools
Number of Pages You Can Print A cartridge's page yield is the estimated number of pages you can print. Page yield is based on 5% page coverage. This means that the quoted page yield is based upon printed pages where only 5% of the page has been imprinted with ink. For example, a short memo has approximately 5% coverage. If you have a cartridge that has a yield of 500 pages, it can print 500 pages of that short memo. If you are printing letters, photos or graphics, your coverage will vary greatly and your page yield will drop significantly.
Cartridge Warranty and Shelf Life Most ink and toner cartridges include a warranty or "best by" date on their box. Remanufactured and compatible ink cartridges can last 12-18 months unopened, and toner cartridges can last up to 3 years.
Cartridge Care and Storage Only open a cartridge when you need it. Opened cartridges will eventually dry out, especially if the protective tape or clip has been removed. If you have an open ink cartridge around and would like to try and prevent it from drying out, place it nozzle side up in a plastic airtight tub. If your cartridge came with protective tape or a clip reapply both before storing. Place a damp cloth or paper towel in the tub, next to the cartridge and keep it stored in a cool, dark place.
