I thought this set was actually great for the price. I have had many different ones at different pricepoints and this one seem the best for your money. No it is not your HIGH end set it is a mid range and that is what you get. I have read that people don't like that that mic is open. That is a setting in your WIN7 not the set itself so turn off the audio mic passthrough. It is in your pref. However I do find that since I wear glasses it is very soar about the top of my ears as it presses down a bit at that location. But still ver y impressed.

Have always used Plantronics headsets and recommended them in the past... no longer. The speakers produce nice sounds, but the mic is really junk. Mic produces a constant noise which is audible even when levels are set to lowest possible. The mic is ALWAYS in monitor mode (you can here your voice and noise) whenever an application that can record or playback audio is open even if you turn monitoring off in the app. Mic recording level is extremely low. With mic only 3 inches from mouth and recording levels set at max, I couldn't get to -12dB without talking very very loudly. I tested multiple headset as well. We bought 12 for podcasting and video voice over work and will be sending them back. Would work fine for gaming or listening to music, but not for any recording. BTW, the info packed with the headset state 32mm drivers and the website says 40mm.

excellent headset!

Comments about Plantronics .Audio 655 Stereo Headset:

I love plantronics and this amazing headset. This is my favorite headset. I recieved it as a gift for valentines day from a great friend . The quality is superb. Crisp clean i love the Dsp noise cancelation. You will love this headset. I do allot of gaming and graphics work. I have a noisy enviroment. But my friends say otherwise..my Mic is quiet. They often ask if im still here? I say oh yeah i am.. its my noise cancellation.. isn't it great? But sadly i am going to have to get a replacement if its possible. I don't have proof of purchase as it was a gift. But im having issues with the mute function and a little feedback as I've noticed over the last month. So my voice over audio recordings have a humm in tge distance I suppose its to be expected time takes a toll on electronics. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

The headband snapped after a few months of just using it. I work at home but the background sounds can still be heard by other people most especially when having a Skype call.

Comments about Plantronics .Audio 655 Stereo Headset:

Plantronics is supposedly a reliable product which is why I purchased this headset. Hasn't worked and the website says update firmware yet when you go to the page there is no firmware to download. Must say I should have stuck with my gut which told me the product is garbage. Do Not purchase you won't be happy

Comments about Plantronics .Audio 655 Stereo Headset:

I bought this a month ago because I work from home using Skype and audio quality is excellent for both me and party other end. I was using a Microsoft Skype 1000 headset that was terrible. I highly recommend this head set to any who is looking for an all round good quality headset.

Comments about Plantronics .Audio 655 Stereo Headset:

I would like a better volume control and if there is a mute it is not evident. Also didn't realize that the boom can only be on the left side. The headset is fairly comfortable. Overall ok purchase and worth the low price

Comments about Plantronics .Audio 655 Stereo Headset:

I bought the item just a couple of weeks ago, its just the waste of money, the neck broke from the both end (means no durability), the wire got broken right at the USB hub place, I shall never recommend this to any one.

You get what you pay for

Comments about Plantronics .Audio 655 Stereo Headset:

I have been using this headset for almost a year. Every chance I get I beg my leadership for better equipment. To be honest, we all received these wired USB headset to go with our desktop VoIP telephones (Polycom). The volume controls do not work and flipping the mic up does not mute. There is a lot of echo on a regular basis, so much so that I must pick up my handset to communicate. Sometimes it sounds fine for me, other times it sounds fine for the client; but at least one end of the conversation regularly suffers through minimal echo. Large echo creation at other times causes me to hang up and redial hoping it will be gone the next time around. I should also add that less often, but even more annoying, is a high-pitched screeching sound that occurs on either user end, causing either user to want to cast head sets aside and take a valium on the way to the spa. It's excruciating. I use my telephone handset a lot. Oh... and no matter where the volumn is on the computer or headset, the first incoming ring is waaaaay louder than any that follow and scares the bejeezus out of the user. Not recommended. You get what you pay for.

Cartridge Comparison Guide
  • Cartridge Types
  • Ink & Toner Basics
  • Number of Pages & Shelf Life
Cartridge Type
Genuine or OEM (Original) Cartridges Remanufactured Cartridges Compatible Cartridges
Description OEM stands for original equipment manufacturer, meaning the cartridge was made by the same company that made your printer. Original brand cartridges are very reliable and sometimes the only option if your printer is new to market or uncommon. Remanufactured ink is a genuine brand cartridge that has gone through one cycle of use. After use, the cartridge is recycled, acquired by a remanufacturing facility and put through a rigorous professional refurbishing process. During the refurbishing process the cartridge is disassembled, thoroughly cleaned and tested for quality. It's then carefully refilled, tested again and brought back to life. Buying remanufactured prevents one less cartridge from ending up in a landfill. A compatible cartridge is a brand new ink cartridge built by a manufacturer other than your printer. It's like buying the generic version of the genuine brand. Most are uniquely designed to differentiate from genuine cartridges. Despite any structural difference you may notice, the cartridge will still fit in your machine and print a full yield, just like the original brand.
Price Factors Many printer manufacturers follow the razor-and-blades business model which may result in higher priced genuine cartridges. Remanufactured ink is much cheaper than the original brand ink. It's far more cost effective to refurbish a previously used cartridge than create a new OEM from scratch. Compatible ink is much cheaper than the original brand. Compatible suppliers don't have to worry about the additional costs that hinder OEMs like new printers or firmware, which lets them keep prices low.
Quality Original cartridges work extremely well and are covered under a warranty by the printer manufacturer High quality remanufactured ink will match the quality of the original, but not all remanufactured ink is created equal. Make sure you buy from a reputable supplier in order to get the absolute best results. High quality compatible ink will match the quality of the original, but not all compatible ink is created equal. Make sure you buy from a reputable supplier in order to get the absolute best results.
What's the difference between ink and toner cartridges?
Ink Cartridges Toner Cartridges
Printer Type Work with inkjet printers Work with laser printers
Material Liquid ink Dry powder
How it works Inkjet printers use a series of nozzles that spray tiny drops of ink directly on the print suface Laser toner printers use static electricity and heat to bond dry toner powder to a page
Commonly used by Casual home users, small business and photographers Large businesses and schools
Number of Pages You Can Print A cartridge's page yield is the estimated number of pages you can print. Page yield is based on 5% page coverage. This means that the quoted page yield is based upon printed pages where only 5% of the page has been imprinted with ink. For example, a short memo has approximately 5% coverage. If you have a cartridge that has a yield of 500 pages, it can print 500 pages of that short memo. If you are printing letters, photos or graphics, your coverage will vary greatly and your page yield will drop significantly.
Cartridge Warranty and Shelf Life Most ink and toner cartridges include a warranty or "best by" date on their box. Remanufactured and compatible ink cartridges can last 12-18 months unopened, and toner cartridges can last up to 3 years.
Cartridge Care and Storage Only open a cartridge when you need it. Opened cartridges will eventually dry out, especially if the protective tape or clip has been removed. If you have an open ink cartridge around and would like to try and prevent it from drying out, place it nozzle side up in a plastic airtight tub. If your cartridge came with protective tape or a clip reapply both before storing. Place a damp cloth or paper towel in the tub, next to the cartridge and keep it stored in a cool, dark place.
