Perfect Size

By Quazy1

from Cape Coral, FL, USA

Comments about Quartet Flipchart Stand:

This easel was perfect for putting a 24" x 24" corrugated poster sign either on the table or on the floor. I only bought 2 should have picked up more and will for our next event. One of the rubber tips came off which is disappointing but hopefully I can obtain one.

Good enough for my needs

By desertdawg

from Phoenix, AZ, USA

Comments about Quartet Flipchart Stand:

Holds my 24"x36" poster boards ok. I wouldn't recommend a larger poster board because these things are not incredibly stable. I like the compact nature because I have to carry 12 of these around to meetings, so the larger size ones would be too cumbersome for me. My only complaint is that I was unable to purchase a replacement tote bag that came with the easel I purchased from the office supply store. I was told "the tote bag no longer comes with this product." Please bring the tote bag back!

plastic clips ALL eventually break

By ronjon1969

from Chicago, IL, USA

Comments about Quartet Flipchart Stand:

as lightweight & compact (when folded) as this easel is, the 2 100% plastic adjustable clips where the item being displayed rests/sits eventually break/snap off after minimal use. you get what you pay for- that is why these are cheap/inexpensive.

easel is good but clips are not

By partry1

from Nashville, Tn

Comments about Quartet Flipchart Stand:

I have owned five of these easels for about a year. After 6 months I started to notice clip failure. Now every one of the easels are missing the support clips and as of today I still have not been able to find any replacement clips. You would think Quartet would have addressed this problem by now.

Support Clips Break Very Easily

By Rick

from Las Vegas, NV, USA

Comments about Quartet Flipchart Stand:

I purchase seven of these units for use at our school. The first time we used them, the clips on three of the units broke... before we could even put the poster board on them. Cheap... cheap.. cheap... DO NOT BUY.

What a difference these made!

By John2014

Comments about Quartet Flipchart Stand:

With a previous employer, I frequently was involved w/ public meetings requiring multiple display boards. Once we hauled over 20 wooden easels around to meetings over several days. When the firm purchased a number of Instant Easels, the setup/tear down time was cut in half (not to mention the splinters, frustration, etc.!). I remember the biggest downside being the broken clips and difficulty in finding replacements. I wasn't responsible for this, so didn't think much about it at the time. I just knew I didn't want to be in front of a client with a duct-taped clip on my easel! Years later I am at a smaller company that recently had a meeting where a couple of the Instant Easels were used. One of them had a broken clip, so I looked at Staples website to order replacements and they weren't shown. I called the store to see if they had them in stock and they acted as if no one had ever asked about this before. I got on Quartet's website and the only mention of clips is in the comments section...people complaining about the difficulty in finding replacements when they break. Enough time has passed...I'm a big fan of the product, just get on the stick about making replacement parts available easily through your distributors!

A little too basic....

By DelawareGoodGuy

from Newark, DE

Comments about Quartet Flipchart Stand:

This instant easel is a product that uses shockcords (like in camping tents) to fairly easily set up. This is an excellent product for indoor use. There is only one point where the three legs are attached, at the apex, so that means there is no true means of making the easel steady, especially in an outdoor situation. Some of our volunteers seem flummoxed by the chart holders are attached to two of the legs, and several have been snapped off so far. Fortunately, ACCO/Quartet has replacements in stock and provide them with little or no trouble at all.

Cheap, Travel Ready, Flimsy, Fragile

By RM20

from Beverly Hills

Comments about Quartet Flipchart Stand:

I have 3 of these and love them, when they work. The tripod itself is great, but the supports that hold the display items break off very easily, making it a bit useless until you figure out a replacement (I use clothespins).

Product was not very sturdy.

Product was not very sturdy. Legs kept collapsing and wouldn't hold a three pound item.

Cartridge Comparison Guide
  • Cartridge Types
  • Ink & Toner Basics
  • Number of Pages & Shelf Life
Cartridge Type
Genuine or OEM (Original) Cartridges Remanufactured Cartridges Compatible Cartridges
Description OEM stands for original equipment manufacturer, meaning the cartridge was made by the same company that made your printer. Original brand cartridges are very reliable and sometimes the only option if your printer is new to market or uncommon. Remanufactured ink is a genuine brand cartridge that has gone through one cycle of use. After use, the cartridge is recycled, acquired by a remanufacturing facility and put through a rigorous professional refurbishing process. During the refurbishing process the cartridge is disassembled, thoroughly cleaned and tested for quality. It's then carefully refilled, tested again and brought back to life. Buying remanufactured prevents one less cartridge from ending up in a landfill. A compatible cartridge is a brand new ink cartridge built by a manufacturer other than your printer. It's like buying the generic version of the genuine brand. Most are uniquely designed to differentiate from genuine cartridges. Despite any structural difference you may notice, the cartridge will still fit in your machine and print a full yield, just like the original brand.
Price Factors Many printer manufacturers follow the razor-and-blades business model which may result in higher priced genuine cartridges. Remanufactured ink is much cheaper than the original brand ink. It's far more cost effective to refurbish a previously used cartridge than create a new OEM from scratch. Compatible ink is much cheaper than the original brand. Compatible suppliers don't have to worry about the additional costs that hinder OEMs like new printers or firmware, which lets them keep prices low.
Quality Original cartridges work extremely well and are covered under a warranty by the printer manufacturer High quality remanufactured ink will match the quality of the original, but not all remanufactured ink is created equal. Make sure you buy from a reputable supplier in order to get the absolute best results. High quality compatible ink will match the quality of the original, but not all compatible ink is created equal. Make sure you buy from a reputable supplier in order to get the absolute best results.
What's the difference between ink and toner cartridges?
Ink Cartridges Toner Cartridges
Printer Type Work with inkjet printers Work with laser printers
Material Liquid ink Dry powder
How it works Inkjet printers use a series of nozzles that spray tiny drops of ink directly on the print suface Laser toner printers use static electricity and heat to bond dry toner powder to a page
Commonly used by Casual home users, small business and photographers Large businesses and schools
Number of Pages You Can Print A cartridge's page yield is the estimated number of pages you can print. Page yield is based on 5% page coverage. This means that the quoted page yield is based upon printed pages where only 5% of the page has been imprinted with ink. For example, a short memo has approximately 5% coverage. If you have a cartridge that has a yield of 500 pages, it can print 500 pages of that short memo. If you are printing letters, photos or graphics, your coverage will vary greatly and your page yield will drop significantly.
Cartridge Warranty and Shelf Life Most ink and toner cartridges include a warranty or "best by" date on their box. Remanufactured and compatible ink cartridges can last 12-18 months unopened, and toner cartridges can last up to 3 years.
Cartridge Care and Storage Only open a cartridge when you need it. Opened cartridges will eventually dry out, especially if the protective tape or clip has been removed. If you have an open ink cartridge around and would like to try and prevent it from drying out, place it nozzle side up in a plastic airtight tub. If your cartridge came with protective tape or a clip reapply both before storing. Place a damp cloth or paper towel in the tub, next to the cartridge and keep it stored in a cool, dark place.
