In my business I research and write white papers for technology companies. Creating a white paper is a complex projects involving many documents and people. I store everything on my computer. But I also need paper copies to work with during during the creation and review process.
Smead's Classification Folders enable me to effortlessly keep my projects under control. I can always find the documents I need quickly. These folders help me to complete my writing projects more efficiently.
The Classification Folder with 3 interior dividers are my favorite. I use a Classification Folder for each writing project. With a fastener at the top of surface, I have 8 interior places to fasten documents. I label each of the side tabs, so I know at a glance where documents should be. When I add a document to a surface, I place a sticky note on the bottom, with the edge extending past the document, and write the name of the document on it. So documents do not get lost.
I also know that when I grab a classification folder for a project, I have ALL of the documents I need. So, I am always able to respond quickly to client questions, even during calls. These folders are very expandable, so they can hold many documents with ease.
I really like the different colors available. I use different folders for different types of documents: green for writing projects, red for administrative matters, etc.
The SAFEShield two prong fasteners at the top of each surface do not cut my fingers when I file papers. This is a great improvement over standard two prong fasteners.
The only downside of these folders is the slightly porous surface, so you must keep your hands oil free if you want the folders to look pristine. From my point of view, the organizational benefits far out weigh this downside.

We use these in a medical office where charts are accessed frequently. Prongs are opend and closed multiple times so we need something that stands up to that. The coated prongs do better than the old ones but the center prongs are shorter and do not hold as much paper filing. The Front and Back prongs since maintained inside and not going through the outer chart piece tend to come off sooner than the previous version and can't be replaced by stand along prongs to prolong the life of the chart.

Comments about Smead SafeSHIELD Top Tab Classification Folder with Fasteners - 8.50" x 14" - Green:

These are GREAT folders/dividers/organizers. The construction is durable so that we can use them for many years and they provide multiple locations to categorize different portions of the file. For customers that have contracts/invoices/correspondence that needs to be kept separate these are ideal. It still leaves room for miscellaneous sections that fall outside of the typical contract file. The durability is a huge plus since we typically have customers on a long term basis and organizing their information in a protective file is very important. Great product I would recommend for important paperwork that needs distinct sectioning and longevity.

We use these for our HR files. They are super sturdy and the tabs are nice and long so we can fit the employee name easily across the section. We have files that are over 9 years old and the folders are holding up exceptionally well! I wouldn't use any other folder for our files!

These folders are, without a doubt, the best folders to use for employee files. They make it possible to organize the files in such a way that it is very easy to find what you are looking for in the file at any given time. They are durable. We have some that we have been using for 25 years. They are also designed for high capacity allowing me to keep adding to the file for years. I would not ever want to try to use any other kind of folder for our employee files.

Description OEM stands for original equipment manufacturer, meaning the cartridge was made by the same company that made your printer. Original brand cartridges are very reliable and sometimes the only option if your printer is new to market or uncommon. Remanufactured ink is a genuine brand cartridge that has gone through one cycle of use. After use, the cartridge is recycled, acquired by a remanufacturing facility and put through a rigorous professional refurbishing process. During the refurbishing process the cartridge is disassembled, thoroughly cleaned and tested for quality. It's then carefully refilled, tested again and brought back to life. Buying remanufactured prevents one less cartridge from ending up in a landfill. A compatible cartridge is a brand new ink cartridge built by a manufacturer other than your printer. It's like buying the generic version of the genuine brand. Most are uniquely designed to differentiate from genuine cartridges. Despite any structural difference you may notice, the cartridge will still fit in your machine and print a full yield, just like the original brand.
Price Factors Many printer manufacturers follow the razor-and-blades business model which may result in higher priced genuine cartridges. Remanufactured ink is much cheaper than the original brand ink. It's far more cost effective to refurbish a previously used cartridge than create a new OEM from scratch. Compatible ink is much cheaper than the original brand. Compatible suppliers don't have to worry about the additional costs that hinder OEMs like new printers or firmware, which lets them keep prices low.
Quality Original cartridges work extremely well and are covered under a warranty by the printer manufacturer High quality remanufactured ink will match the quality of the original, but not all remanufactured ink is created equal. Make sure you buy from a reputable supplier in order to get the absolute best results. High quality compatible ink will match the quality of the original, but not all compatible ink is created equal. Make sure you buy from a reputable supplier in order to get the absolute best results.
What's the difference between ink and toner cartridges?

Number of Pages You Can Print A cartridge's page yield is the estimated number of pages you can print. Page yield is based on 5% page coverage. This means that the quoted page yield is based upon printed pages where only 5% of the page has been imprinted with ink. For example, a short memo has approximately 5% coverage. If you have a cartridge that has a yield of 500 pages, it can print 500 pages of that short memo. If you are printing letters, photos or graphics, your coverage will vary greatly and your page yield will drop significantly.
Cartridge Warranty and Shelf Life Most ink and toner cartridges include a warranty or "best by" date on their box. Remanufactured and compatible ink cartridges can last 12-18 months unopened, and toner cartridges can last up to 3 years.
Cartridge Care and Storage Only open a cartridge when you need it. Opened cartridges will eventually dry out, especially if the protective tape or clip has been removed. If you have an open ink cartridge around and would like to try and prevent it from drying out, place it nozzle side up in a plastic airtight tub. If your cartridge came with protective tape or a clip reapply both before storing. Place a damp cloth or paper towel in the tub, next to the cartridge and keep it stored in a cool, dark place.
