I recently bought the Swifter Wetjet and have been very happy with it until the handle broke after very few uses. I thought about replacing the handle but I decided to repair it myself. I bought a 45 degree PVC Conduit Tube, a door bell button and a 13/16 spade bit. I removed the existing handle from the mop, (There are 4 screws total) Two in the handle, I below the switch cover and one at the end of the handle) I fitted the PVC Conduit over the existing mop and drilled a hole for a round door bell button and cut the existing switch from the mop and connected the wires to the door bell button and inserted into the hole I drilled. I fitted a wood plug at the end of PVC Conduit. The handle works perfect and will not break. (I had to drill the end of the conduit to 13/16 to fit over the mop pipe.) The 45 degree PVC Conduit fit very tight on the mop so no screws or fastners of any sort was needed.

I have purchased to wet jets. I love them unfortanatly I wish I didn't have to keep buying them because the top handle keeps breaking. My second wetjet has broke and I refuse to buy another one. I would also like to try the other swiffer stuff like the sweeper and vac, but I'm very hesitant since I have had bad experiences with the wet jet. Right now I am with out a mop due to poor qualilty. I said that I would recommend it to a friend because they are convienent while working. So if you have money to buy a new one every six months to a year then great!!! Bottom line I just want a new one!!!

This product sucks.

Comments about Swiffer Wet Jet Cleaner Kit:

This is the second Wet Swiffer I have had to buy because it stopped working. Have changed the batteries and it still will not work. I like the way it cleans but cannot afford to keep buying one. This is 2nd one in 2 years. Tried calling your 800 # and was put on hold for over 5 minutes.

Does not last long

By wilsonk2

from Atlanta, GA

Comments about Swiffer Wet Jet Cleaner Kit:

When it's working it cleans well. However, I maybe only used it through one full solution tub. After refilling with a Swiffer product it only worked 1 or 2 more times. I tried changing the batteries but it still did not work. It's disappointing to have spent money on the mop, solution, and refill solution for the mop to stop working.

Product made like garbage

By Mop boy

from New York

Comments about Swiffer Wet Jet Cleaner Kit:

Bought my Swiffer Wet Jet about a month ago. Performed pretty well. Had not applied no more than two pounds of pressure to the mop and the handle broke in my hands. Glued it but I see that it will never last. Totally disappointed in the product.

Will not work

By YoRey

Comments about Swiffer Wet Jet Cleaner Kit:

Brand new. Will not work. Changed batteries and made sure they were placed in correctly. Nothing, not even the sound of the motor. Very frustrating. I would return it but my husband threw away the receipt.

Don't waste your money!

By llrt

Comments about Swiffer Wet Jet Cleaner Kit:

These new redesigned pads with the purple stripe shed all over the floor while mopping. Never had this problem with the old pads. I vacuum before mopping and now I now have to walk around and pick up the pieces that have shed on the floors when I'm done. Such a disappoint. Redesigned versions are supposed to be an improvement, but not this one!!

Love my WetJet when it isn't broken

By Lexy

from Los Angeles

Comments about Swiffer Wet Jet Cleaner Kit:

I put dark wood floors in my small kitchen without thinking about the fact I would literally need to wipe them down after every big cooking session. My Wet Jet does the trick but I'm on my second one and now one of the spray nozzles is broken. Gotta go buy my 3rd one which is getting a bit tiresome and yes, expensive l

All this product does is pick up the loose dirt. It does not really clean the floor.

Third Wet jet handle broken

By Andrew

from Crescent, GA

Comments about Swiffer Wet Jet Cleaner Kit:

I use my wet jet almost daily. I'm on the third one with the broken handle. It seems to be a common problem and I wish Swifter would fix this. I'm tired of having to keep buying new ones. Have the duster, vac, and original as well.

Great for easy mopping

By Bee73086

from Yucca Valley, CA

Comments about Swiffer Wet Jet Cleaner Kit:

I really like the swiffer. It is way easier to pull out and use quickly vs trying to use a mop and bucket. Veey helpful for when the cat vomits on the floor and my mom dribbles to the bathroom. She is elderly and is embarrassed this way no one needs to know. I wish I had bought one sooner.

Cartridge Comparison Guide
  • Cartridge Types
  • Ink & Toner Basics
  • Number of Pages & Shelf Life
Cartridge Type
Genuine or OEM (Original) Cartridges Remanufactured Cartridges Compatible Cartridges
Description OEM stands for original equipment manufacturer, meaning the cartridge was made by the same company that made your printer. Original brand cartridges are very reliable and sometimes the only option if your printer is new to market or uncommon. Remanufactured ink is a genuine brand cartridge that has gone through one cycle of use. After use, the cartridge is recycled, acquired by a remanufacturing facility and put through a rigorous professional refurbishing process. During the refurbishing process the cartridge is disassembled, thoroughly cleaned and tested for quality. It's then carefully refilled, tested again and brought back to life. Buying remanufactured prevents one less cartridge from ending up in a landfill. A compatible cartridge is a brand new ink cartridge built by a manufacturer other than your printer. It's like buying the generic version of the genuine brand. Most are uniquely designed to differentiate from genuine cartridges. Despite any structural difference you may notice, the cartridge will still fit in your machine and print a full yield, just like the original brand.
Price Factors Many printer manufacturers follow the razor-and-blades business model which may result in higher priced genuine cartridges. Remanufactured ink is much cheaper than the original brand ink. It's far more cost effective to refurbish a previously used cartridge than create a new OEM from scratch. Compatible ink is much cheaper than the original brand. Compatible suppliers don't have to worry about the additional costs that hinder OEMs like new printers or firmware, which lets them keep prices low.
Quality Original cartridges work extremely well and are covered under a warranty by the printer manufacturer High quality remanufactured ink will match the quality of the original, but not all remanufactured ink is created equal. Make sure you buy from a reputable supplier in order to get the absolute best results. High quality compatible ink will match the quality of the original, but not all compatible ink is created equal. Make sure you buy from a reputable supplier in order to get the absolute best results.
What's the difference between ink and toner cartridges?
Ink Cartridges Toner Cartridges
Printer Type Work with inkjet printers Work with laser printers
Material Liquid ink Dry powder
How it works Inkjet printers use a series of nozzles that spray tiny drops of ink directly on the print suface Laser toner printers use static electricity and heat to bond dry toner powder to a page
Commonly used by Casual home users, small business and photographers Large businesses and schools
Number of Pages You Can Print A cartridge's page yield is the estimated number of pages you can print. Page yield is based on 5% page coverage. This means that the quoted page yield is based upon printed pages where only 5% of the page has been imprinted with ink. For example, a short memo has approximately 5% coverage. If you have a cartridge that has a yield of 500 pages, it can print 500 pages of that short memo. If you are printing letters, photos or graphics, your coverage will vary greatly and your page yield will drop significantly.
Cartridge Warranty and Shelf Life Most ink and toner cartridges include a warranty or "best by" date on their box. Remanufactured and compatible ink cartridges can last 12-18 months unopened, and toner cartridges can last up to 3 years.
Cartridge Care and Storage Only open a cartridge when you need it. Opened cartridges will eventually dry out, especially if the protective tape or clip has been removed. If you have an open ink cartridge around and would like to try and prevent it from drying out, place it nozzle side up in a plastic airtight tub. If your cartridge came with protective tape or a clip reapply both before storing. Place a damp cloth or paper towel in the tub, next to the cartridge and keep it stored in a cool, dark place.
