Worked great on my vinyl floors. However, my quality laminate floors were very streaked and dull. But they were clean. I know this because I immediately followed the steamboost with my usual cleaner, Bona and there was no dirt on the applicator. I'm satisfied it is doing its job.

I like the Steamboost and the ease of use. My biggest complaint is that the Steam Pads are scented with CHEMICALS and the smell lingers hours after use. I had to wash my floors with hot water to get rid of the chemical smell. The smell is an assault to ones senses. I contacted the company and was told most consumers feel it makes the product more pleasant to use...SERIOUSLY???? I filed the paperwork for a money-back refund.

Disappointed

By Shanon123

from Marana, AZ

Comments about Swiffer SteamBoost Kit:

I have been through 3 Steamboost mops and was getting ready to purchase my 4th but figured I would try to see if Swiffer sells replacement parts. All 3 mops have had the trigger break. I LOVE this mop up until it breaks. I wish there was some other option instead of having to purchase the entire product again. Are there any options or is there a similar product that has a longer lasting lifespan?

Great for all my floors and easy to use

By Naturegirl57

Comments about Swiffer SteamBoost Kit:

I purchased my Steam boost several years ago. Gets Tile and Hardwood so clean. I don't have to use a lot of chemical cleaners & it's easy to use. Mine finally died this week and I will definitely be replacing it with another Steam boost.

A lot of work with incredibly mediocre results

By swallz

from Venice, CA

Comments about Swiffer SteamBoost Kit:

Filled the reservoir, plugged it in, and got mop pads to stay put...I expected this to work far better than a regular old Swiffer. However, even when I went over and over the same spot in my kitchen activating the steamer and swiping numerous times to lift the dirt, I gave up and used a rag to wipe the floor-it cleaned it much fast and more thoroughly. Not worth the effort

I have been happy with this mop

By vickisue

from Englewood, CO

Comments about Swiffer SteamBoost Kit:

I have been happy with this mop, I have had it for a couple of years. However, it has suddenly stopped working and I can't figure out why It will not heat up. I have taken very good care of it. I am disappointed and now I have to find a new mop. I am reluctant to try another Swiffer, knowing it could fail. Also, it does the basic mopping job, but does not clean grout in ceramic tile.

Didn't Work as Advertised

By JuJu66

from Undisclosed

Comments about Swiffer SteamBoost Kit:

I purchased all of the Swiffer products available for cleaning floors. They cost a lot of money and I considered this as an investment and looked forward to receiving these products. What I have found is that the cleaning head is much smaller and it required more physical work than my prior steam cleaner. I was disappointed enough after using this twice that I threw out all of the Swiffer products. I went back to my prior products and mops/steamer to keep our floors clean.

Broke after only three months

By Deflores

from Boynton Beach FL

Comments about Swiffer SteamBoost Kit:

I am a big fan of all Swifter products but I will say that I am very disappointed in the steamer. I loved it at the beginning but the switch in the handle broke after only three months now it won't steam. Not worth the money

Why no replacement parts available????

By Traci

from New York

Comments about Swiffer SteamBoost Kit:

I loved it at first even though holding the trigger while mopping was hard on my hand. Then the trigger on the handle broke. The rest of the mop still works, but the trigger doesn't; so no steam, and hence a worthless mop. The manufacturer's website does not list replacement parts, so it is not fixable. Now I have to throw away a $50 mop because they won't sell a $1 replacement part? Ridiculous!

Comments about Swiffer SteamBoost Kit:

This item worked fabulous the first two times but won't even try to steam now. I have kept this item in a dry cool environment, plug it in an hour before use and only use distilled water, there is no reason this item shouldn't work. Save your money and buy another product. I wouldnt have even selected one star but unfortunately it won't let me post unless I rate at least a one star.

By tenntirediva

Comments about Swiffer SteamBoost Kit:

I have had this product for less than a week and the trigger broke. Not only that byt when you try to use it, the pad slides out of the pockets and tears up. Thats probably why when I bought my first refill pack that they were on clearance. Do not waste your money.

Cartridge Comparison Guide
  • Cartridge Types
  • Ink & Toner Basics
  • Number of Pages & Shelf Life
Cartridge Type
Genuine or OEM (Original) Cartridges Remanufactured Cartridges Compatible Cartridges
Description OEM stands for original equipment manufacturer, meaning the cartridge was made by the same company that made your printer. Original brand cartridges are very reliable and sometimes the only option if your printer is new to market or uncommon. Remanufactured ink is a genuine brand cartridge that has gone through one cycle of use. After use, the cartridge is recycled, acquired by a remanufacturing facility and put through a rigorous professional refurbishing process. During the refurbishing process the cartridge is disassembled, thoroughly cleaned and tested for quality. It's then carefully refilled, tested again and brought back to life. Buying remanufactured prevents one less cartridge from ending up in a landfill. A compatible cartridge is a brand new ink cartridge built by a manufacturer other than your printer. It's like buying the generic version of the genuine brand. Most are uniquely designed to differentiate from genuine cartridges. Despite any structural difference you may notice, the cartridge will still fit in your machine and print a full yield, just like the original brand.
Price Factors Many printer manufacturers follow the razor-and-blades business model which may result in higher priced genuine cartridges. Remanufactured ink is much cheaper than the original brand ink. It's far more cost effective to refurbish a previously used cartridge than create a new OEM from scratch. Compatible ink is much cheaper than the original brand. Compatible suppliers don't have to worry about the additional costs that hinder OEMs like new printers or firmware, which lets them keep prices low.
Quality Original cartridges work extremely well and are covered under a warranty by the printer manufacturer High quality remanufactured ink will match the quality of the original, but not all remanufactured ink is created equal. Make sure you buy from a reputable supplier in order to get the absolute best results. High quality compatible ink will match the quality of the original, but not all compatible ink is created equal. Make sure you buy from a reputable supplier in order to get the absolute best results.
What's the difference between ink and toner cartridges?
Ink Cartridges Toner Cartridges
Printer Type Work with inkjet printers Work with laser printers
Material Liquid ink Dry powder
How it works Inkjet printers use a series of nozzles that spray tiny drops of ink directly on the print suface Laser toner printers use static electricity and heat to bond dry toner powder to a page
Commonly used by Casual home users, small business and photographers Large businesses and schools
Number of Pages You Can Print A cartridge's page yield is the estimated number of pages you can print. Page yield is based on 5% page coverage. This means that the quoted page yield is based upon printed pages where only 5% of the page has been imprinted with ink. For example, a short memo has approximately 5% coverage. If you have a cartridge that has a yield of 500 pages, it can print 500 pages of that short memo. If you are printing letters, photos or graphics, your coverage will vary greatly and your page yield will drop significantly.
Cartridge Warranty and Shelf Life Most ink and toner cartridges include a warranty or "best by" date on their box. Remanufactured and compatible ink cartridges can last 12-18 months unopened, and toner cartridges can last up to 3 years.
Cartridge Care and Storage Only open a cartridge when you need it. Opened cartridges will eventually dry out, especially if the protective tape or clip has been removed. If you have an open ink cartridge around and would like to try and prevent it from drying out, place it nozzle side up in a plastic airtight tub. If your cartridge came with protective tape or a clip reapply both before storing. Place a damp cloth or paper towel in the tub, next to the cartridge and keep it stored in a cool, dark place.
