Page Yield is an approximation of the number of standard pages that can be printed with one cartridge, usually measured at 5% page coverage. 5% coverage is a standard 8.5 x 11 inch page with a light letterhead, address and three paragraphs of text double spaced. If you print mixed text and graphics or WebPages your page coverage is closer to 15% and therefore the number of pages printed with each cartridge will be less. If you are printing photos your page coverage is close to 100% and the number of printed photos will be much less than the amount the number of pages you would be able to print if you were just printing standard text documents.

Comments about Panasonic Compatible KX-FAT407 Black Toner:
I purchased a small Panasonic laser printer at Fry's, but when it came time to replace the toner cartridge, none of the retail stories carried it. I tried Fry's, Best Buy, Staples, Office Depot, WalMart, Costco, and a few independent ink toner and cartridge refurbishers. One sales person recommended that I discard my printer and start over with a brand that the major stores support (apparently Panasonic doesn't build in enough of a profit margin so none of the retailers want to carry the supplies). In the meantime, I was sending basic print jobs to Staples. I finally realized the only way to get a cartridge was to order it online either from Panasonic or another vendor. LDProducts had the right cartridge, at the right price, and it arrived in a couple of days. It even had the right chip replaced so the printer display stopped reporting "out of toner" (a problem if you try to refill it). Thank you LDProducts--you really came through for me.
