We live waaaay out in the country and have many power outages in a years time. The Tripp-Lite ECO750UPS has provided me with peace of mind and more importantly prevented my computer (laptop or PC) unnecessarily and improperly shutting down due to power outages. I used to stop using my computers during bad weather, but even in good weather there are power bumps. This UPS unit has never let me down. And, has enough battery charge that during power outs, I've been able to plug in my wi-fi router and stay online for about an hour before having to shut-down.

It's trim design allows for use in the most exposed areas of the house. I have it at the base of the peninsula in my kitchen so I can use my laptop on the countertop, and stay a part of the family unit.

Thumbs and fingers up on this one. Best computing investment I've ever made.

Wanted to replace the basic surge protectors my wife had with a reliable UPS since most of the stuff she had hooked up was a little pricey. Got this brick hooked up and it only half worked. The outlets that didn't give battery protection worked fine, but anything that was on the battery outlets would run for up to 30 seconds max before the power on that side cut out. And I had to fiddle with the power button and reset button just to squeeze that out of it. And for anyone that thinks "Oh, you just needed to charge the battery up" or something like that, ok, left it plugged in for four days straight before trying again. Same deal. So yeah, it's busted, and I'm taking it back for a refund. If I can't get a refund, It's going in the trash. It may have a 3 year warranty, but why would I want to replace it with another one just like it?

Comments about Tripp Lite 750VA Desktop UPS:

This battery backup was a life saver on several occasions, one street over a transformer has blown several times once years ago I believe that caused a computer to crash on me due to an electrical surge, since we have had this several times we had the transformer blow and the system stayed up long enough for us the shut it down and it beeps letting us know of the power outage even of a night when we are sleeping it alarms us of the power failure.

Comments about Tripp Lite 750VA Desktop UPS:

This UPS is great for small offices because it is so affordable that you can have one for each computer instead of just a Surge Protector.

Until I found this Tripp Lite UPS we often left individuals PC's without adequate protection since small companies often cannot afford to protect all PC's yet they also cannot afford not to protect all PC's.

After finding this product I had no problems getting money approved for these. Of course for servers and Engineering workstations I purchase larger ones but I always depend on Tripp Lite UPS's such as the Smart150L or the Tripp Lite Smart Pro.

I always recommend Tripp Lite for value and performance to our employees who ask about one for their home as well as IT personnel at other companies that ask my opinion.

I love the dependability of all of your products!

Comments about Tripp Lite 750VA Desktop UPS:

I have 2 of these, and I love them. I live in an area where we get a lot of power blips, usually 2 or 3 a week. It's great not having everything reboot while I'm in the middle of something.

Comments about Tripp Lite 750VA Desktop UPS:

I have actually ordered one for every person in my department. We are a multimedia specialist office so we rely on the energy saving features and surge protection features on a daily basis. Have not experienced any problems with it and i have had mine for a year now. Also, it reduces noise! That is such a great feature to have. Thanks!

Have several..really do the job!

Comments about Tripp Lite 750VA Desktop UPS:

We get quite a few outages per year i, due to which we have bought a whole house generator. However, it takes 5 - 10 seconds for the generator to kick in, which means we are still subject to losing power during the gap. The UPS units (we have two of this model and one BC350) keep our laptop from an uncontrolled shut-down and our smart TV w/DirecTV from having to re-set and re-program. This saves the about 10-15 minute reset time needed for the DirecTV receiver. That reset also meant that we lost the full guide information and On Demand for 24 hours. Even without a whole house generator, most blackouts are more like brownouts and the UPS unit would suffice for keeping power to the TVs and satellite receivers, as well as the internet router, during the quick outage.

Cartridge Comparison Guide
  • Cartridge Types
  • Ink & Toner Basics
  • Number of Pages & Shelf Life
Cartridge Type
Genuine or OEM (Original) Cartridges Remanufactured Cartridges Compatible Cartridges
Description OEM stands for original equipment manufacturer, meaning the cartridge was made by the same company that made your printer. Original brand cartridges are very reliable and sometimes the only option if your printer is new to market or uncommon. Remanufactured ink is a genuine brand cartridge that has gone through one cycle of use. After use, the cartridge is recycled, acquired by a remanufacturing facility and put through a rigorous professional refurbishing process. During the refurbishing process the cartridge is disassembled, thoroughly cleaned and tested for quality. It's then carefully refilled, tested again and brought back to life. Buying remanufactured prevents one less cartridge from ending up in a landfill. A compatible cartridge is a brand new ink cartridge built by a manufacturer other than your printer. It's like buying the generic version of the genuine brand. Most are uniquely designed to differentiate from genuine cartridges. Despite any structural difference you may notice, the cartridge will still fit in your machine and print a full yield, just like the original brand.
Price Factors Many printer manufacturers follow the razor-and-blades business model which may result in higher priced genuine cartridges. Remanufactured ink is much cheaper than the original brand ink. It's far more cost effective to refurbish a previously used cartridge than create a new OEM from scratch. Compatible ink is much cheaper than the original brand. Compatible suppliers don't have to worry about the additional costs that hinder OEMs like new printers or firmware, which lets them keep prices low.
Quality Original cartridges work extremely well and are covered under a warranty by the printer manufacturer High quality remanufactured ink will match the quality of the original, but not all remanufactured ink is created equal. Make sure you buy from a reputable supplier in order to get the absolute best results. High quality compatible ink will match the quality of the original, but not all compatible ink is created equal. Make sure you buy from a reputable supplier in order to get the absolute best results.
What's the difference between ink and toner cartridges?
Ink Cartridges Toner Cartridges
Printer Type Work with inkjet printers Work with laser printers
Material Liquid ink Dry powder
How it works Inkjet printers use a series of nozzles that spray tiny drops of ink directly on the print suface Laser toner printers use static electricity and heat to bond dry toner powder to a page
Commonly used by Casual home users, small business and photographers Large businesses and schools
Number of Pages You Can Print A cartridge's page yield is the estimated number of pages you can print. Page yield is based on 5% page coverage. This means that the quoted page yield is based upon printed pages where only 5% of the page has been imprinted with ink. For example, a short memo has approximately 5% coverage. If you have a cartridge that has a yield of 500 pages, it can print 500 pages of that short memo. If you are printing letters, photos or graphics, your coverage will vary greatly and your page yield will drop significantly.
Cartridge Warranty and Shelf Life Most ink and toner cartridges include a warranty or "best by" date on their box. Remanufactured and compatible ink cartridges can last 12-18 months unopened, and toner cartridges can last up to 3 years.
Cartridge Care and Storage Only open a cartridge when you need it. Opened cartridges will eventually dry out, especially if the protective tape or clip has been removed. If you have an open ink cartridge around and would like to try and prevent it from drying out, place it nozzle side up in a plastic airtight tub. If your cartridge came with protective tape or a clip reapply both before storing. Place a damp cloth or paper towel in the tub, next to the cartridge and keep it stored in a cool, dark place.
