Brother TN221/TN225 Installation
1. Turn on your Brother printer. Lift the top of your printer to expose the cartridge tray under it.
2. The cartridge tray holds 4 drum units each holding a toner cartridge. Pull out the specific cartridge color (C/M/Y/K) you want to replace. It should slide out easily.
4. Place the old unit on a paper towel to avoid spills in case of leaks.
5. Press the tab on the lower left side of the drum unit to release the toner cartridge.
6. Take out the old toner cartridge once it pops up.
7. At this point, it's recommended that you
clean the corona wire of your drum unit. You can do this by sliding the tab on the upper left side of the drum unit from left to right a couple of times. Return the tab to its original position.
8. Unwrap your new toner cartridge. Do not unwrap your new cartridge unless you're ready.
9. Before removing the orange plastic protector, shake the toner cartridge gently side to side to evenly distribute the toner powder inside.
10. Remove orange plastic protector.
11. Put your new toner cartridge into the old drum unit. Make sure it fits perfectly then press down firmly until it clicks into place.
12. Slide the drum unit back into the cartridge tray. If replacing multiple colors, make sure that the cartridges match with the color indicators on the tray when putting them back.
13. Close the top of your printer.
14. Print a test page to make sure the toner works properly.
