      Frequently Asked Questions

Is ink and toner the same thing?

No, they are not. Ink is liquid, while toner is powder. Ink cartridges are used by inkjet printers; toner cartridges are used by laser printers. They are only the same in that they are both used by printers to print.

Do you need ink and toner?

If you own a printer, the answer is yes. At some point, your ink or toner will run out and you will need to get replacements. Most consumers now opt for third-party cartridges because they are much more affordable than OEM or original brand cartridges.

      Is ink or toner better?

This depends on what you print and how often you print. We recommend using an affordable laser printer for infrequent use, an inkjet printer for professional color printing needs, and color laser printers home, home office, and small business use.

What is cheaper toner or ink?

At first glance, the cost of ink cartridges is lower than toner cartridges. But if you divide the cartridge price by the number of expected pages each cartridge can print, you'll find that you save more money with toner cartridges. Toner cartridges can print thousands of pages per cartridge while an ink cartridge can only print about 500 pages on average.
