What ink does HP Deskjet 2600 use?
The HP DeskJet 2600 uses HP 65 and 65XL black and tricolor ink cartridges.
Choose from two cartridge sizes:
Standard:
- Black: HP 65 (N9K02AN) - This standard black HP 65 ink cartridge prints 120 pages
- Tricolor: HP 65 (N9K01AN) - This standard tricolor HP 65 ink cartridge prints 100 pages
High Yield:
- Black: HP 65XL (N9K04AN) - This high yield black HP 65XL cartridge prints 300 pages
- Tricolor: HP 65XL (N9K03AN) - This high yield tricolor HP 65XL cartridge prints 300 pages
How do I see the ink levels on my HP printer?
- Turn your computer and your printer on if it's not already on.
- Click on the magnifying glass icon on the lower left part of your monitor and type in your printer model name. You can also click on the Windows icon then go to Settings > Devices > Printers & Scanners and then click on your printer model name.
Estimated ink levels in your printer should be visible on the HP Printer Assistant home screen.
Is HP Deskjet 2600 an inkjet printer?
Yes, the DeskJet 2600 is a wireless inkjet printer with scan and copy capabilities. It was marketed as HP's most affordable wireless all-in-one inkjet printer.
How do you put ink in a HP Deskjet 2600 printer?
- Make sure the printer is on.
- Lower the paper output tray, you should then be able to see the ink cartridge access door.
- Lower the ink cartridge access door. The printhead will start moving. Wait for the printhead to stop moving before trying to remove the ink cartridges
- Gently push down on the ink cartridge you're replacing to release it. Pull the cartridge out of its slot.
- Remove packaging from the new HP 2600 ink cartridge, including the plastic tape protecting the contacts and nozzles. Be careful NOT to touch the contacts or the nozzle as this might cause communication problems with your printer.
- To make sure the contacts are clean, you can wipe it gently with a lint-free cloth.
- Hold the new ink cartridge on its sides, and slide it into the slot vacated by the empty cartridge. Push down gently till it clicks into place.
- Make sure you're installing the right cartridge on the right slot: the black goes to the right; the tricolor cartridge goes on the left.
- Close the ink cartridge access door. Wait a few moments for your printer to recognize the new cartridge.
- You can start printing.
