What ink is compatible with Canon 245?

You can replace the Canon PG-245 standard ink cartridge with an original Canon PG-245 or a compatible Canon PG-245 ink cartridge. You can also use high yield Canon PG-245XL ink cartridges to replace standard cartridges. Both high yield and standard ink tanks fit in the black slot of your PIXMA printer.

Only a PG-245 and PG-245XL can be used to replace each other. You cannot use the PG-240 to replace the PG-245.

What is the difference between PIXMA 245 and 245xl?

The difference is that the 245 is a standard ink tank and the 245XL is a high yield ink tank which means it contains more ink and can therefore print more pages compared to the standard cartridge. A standard Canon PG-245 has 8 grams of ink while the Canon PG-245XL holds 12 grams of ink.
